HSA funds generally may not be used to pay premiums.

WHAT IS 20/20 VISION?

Having 20/20 vision means you have normal vision. To see 20/20 implies that what you can see at 20 feet is exactly what normal people can see at 20 feet. If, for example, you could read a line on the eye chart at 20 feet, but a person with normal vision could only read it from 15 feet, then you'd be diagnosed with a 20/15 vision.

In the end, the number we consider "normal" is a bit arbitary. Some individuals naturally see better than 20/20 - others don't.

A LOT CAN HAPPEN IN 20 YEARS.
What's happend in the last two decades? Aside from not even knowing where your CD collection went, a scientific survery was conducted to discover the satisfaction rates of patients who have undergone elective procedures. Of those individuals, 98.4% of patients gave high marks to CONTOURA® Vision - the highest satisfaction rate of any elective procedure surveryed.

Why LASIK?

Frequently Asked Questions

What Happens During LASIK Surgery?

The surgery works by reshaping the cornea so it can better focus images onto the retina for sharper vision. Both eyes can be treated during the same appointment and the surgery takes about 10 minutes per eye. LASIK is an outpatient procedure that uses local anesthesia in the form of eye drops.

How Quickly Can I Expect Results?

Full recovery and noticeable results can take anywhere from a few days to several weeks. In most cases, patients enjoy 20/20 vision without glasses or contact lenses after their surgery, and for many patients, the improved vision from LASIK may be permanent.

What Types Of Vision Problems Can Be Treated With LASIK?

LASIK corrects common vision problems like nearsightedness, farsightedness and astigmatism, reducing your need for prescription glasses or contact lenses.

How Do I Know If I Am A Good Candidate For LASIK?

Visit us for a FREE consult. In this consult, you will be examined by one of our American Eye Associates doctors and you will also undergo an extensive evaluation to determine if you are a candidate. Most people are good candidates for LASIK, but some may not be. However, there may be other options for you to help reduce your dependency on glasses.

Talk to your American Eye Associates doctor about your health conditions, as some may impact your ability to undergo LASIK. Other things like thin corneas or dry eyes may also affect your ability to undergo LASIK.

We use WaveLight® LASIK technology with CONTOURA® Vision, the latest available technology for LASIK. With Contoura® we have the ability to map your cornea and offer a more custom LASIK procedure. LASIK results with Contoura® have been outstanding.
Keep in mind that you may be asked to not wear contact lenses for up to two weeks before your evaluation to help your eyes return to their natural shape.

What Happens After LASIK Surgery?

Your eyes may feel temporarily dry, and your vision may be hazy for the first few days. For that reason, patients are usually required to have someone drive them home after surgery. Your eye care provider will schedule regular follow-up visits after the procedure to make sure your eyes are healthy and healing properly.

Are There Any Side Effects?

Temporary side effects may include glare, fluctuating vision and dry eyes, which can be relieved with eye drops. Most side effects usually disappear after a few days.

Will I Need To Wear Corrective Lenses After Surgery?

Most people are able to see clearly after LASIK surgery. However, corrective lenses might be required for specific activities, such as night driving or reading.
