Walid Abdallah, M.D., PH.D, FRCS
Walid F. Abdallah, MD, PhD, was born in Egypt and earned his medical degree (MBBCh) from Zagazig University. Thereafter, he completed his ophthalmology residency at Zagazig University in 2004, followed by a Doctorate degree in Ophthalmology in 2011. Additionally, he earned the FRCS in ophthalmology from the Royal College of Surgeons and Physicians of Glasgow, UK in 2011.
Dr. Abdallah moved to the USA in 2007 where he completed a research fellowship (2007-2008) and a postdoctoral fellowship (2011-2013) at Doheny Eye Institute, CA. Dr. Abdallah finished his internship at Saint Francis Hospital, IL (2014-2015), Ophthalmology residency (2015-2018) and fellowship (2018-2020) at the University of Southern California. Dr. Abdallah has been a board certified ophthalmologist since 2019.
Dr. Abdallah has noted experience in ophthalmic research including 5 years at the USC ophthalmic labs specializing in retina and glaucoma. He has produced more than 10 original papers in prestigious ophthalmology journals, 7 posters, an oral presentation at the ARVO, 2 patents, and was awarded the Clinician-Scientist ALCON/ARVO Award for 2015 for research in corneal wound healing. Dr. Abdallah finished his residency at the LAC+USC Medical Center and RCA/USC Vitreo-retinal Fellowship Program.
Dr. Abdallah has more than 15 peer review original papers, a book chapter, and 2 patents. Dr. Abdallah is a board-certified ophthalmologist from the American Academy of Ophthalmology and is looking forward to improving and developing new surgical skills in the field of medical and surgical retina. He is fluent in both English and Arabic.
