Tayson DeLengocky, D.O.
Tayson DeLengocky, D.O., an associate of American Eye Associates, is a highly trained osteopathic physician with a holistic approach to treating eye diseases. Dr. DeLengocky is double-fellowship trained in vitreo-retinal surgery and neuro-ophthalmology and is Board Certified in Ophthalmology. He believes that the vast majority of blindness is treatable and preventable, and places an emphasis on cardiovascular exercises, smoking cessation, healthy diet, and nutritional supplements.
Dr. DeLengocky was born in Vietnam and spent part of his childhood living in France before he immigrated to the U.S. in 1990. He graduated from the University of Texas, Austin where he received a Bachelor’s Degree in Biochemistry with honors. He obtained his medical degree from the University of North Texas Health Science Center in Fort Worth. He then did his internship and fellowship in neuro-ophthalmology at Michigan State University and completed his residency in Brooklyn, New York. Finally, he completed a two year fellowship in vitreo-retinal surgery at South Texas Retina Consultants, LLP.
Prior to joining American Eye Associates, Dr. DeLengocky served as retinal service director at a multi-specialty ophthalmic group for four years in central Illinois. He was appointed Clinical Assistant Professor at University of Illinois College of Medicine and TOURO College of Osteopathic Medicine.
In 2011, Dr. DeLengocky was awarded New Physician of the Year by the Texas Osteopathic Medical Association for patient and professional advocacy. Dr. DeLengocky has been voted by his peers, both within his specialty and outside, as one of San Diego County’s Top Doctors by San Diego County Medical Society for two years. He is fluent in Vietnamese, French and English.
